Alan’Architects is an architectural cooperation practice, based in Athens. It was founded with the inspiration from the word ‘’αλάνα’’ that is used as meaning ‘’outdoor playground’’ in Greek. It discusses the game of ‘’architecture’’, as a practice of producing space/place and setting up a venue in a local context and focuses on universal solutions. It constructs each project like a workshop. It expects from each role, involved in the workshop, to reflect on, discuss and produce space/place.

Alan’A is a collaboration of practices that query about the urban spaces and produce creative, innovative and awareness-based architectural projects. It provides cooperation between professionals from various disciplines and from diverse cultures. It aims to find experience-oriented answers to spatial questions by bringing together of intersecting disciplines. It invites you to be part of this game, also. She graduated from architecture faculty at Yıldız Technical University. She completed a part of her education at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Lyon. As of 2007, she has collaborated with several offices in numerous projects, of different types and scales. In 2013, she co-founded Mahal Mimarlık / Mahal Architects in Istanbul. She was the one of the twenty-two participants in the program ‘Femmes d’Avenir en Méditerranée’, organized by Sciences Po, in 2016. She completed her master’s degree at Istanbul University, Department of Urban Studies. She has participated in various conferences and symposiums with her research on urban and architectural studies. Since 2019, she has been working on Alan’Architects.

Architect Burcu Tüm

She graduated from architecture faculty at Yıldız Technical University. She completed a part of her education at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Lyon. As of 2007, she has collaborated with several offices in numerous projects, of different types and scales. In 2013, she co-founded Mahal Mimarlık / Mahal Architects in Istanbul. She was the one of the twenty-two participants in the program ‘Femmes d’Avenir en Méditerranée’, organized by Sciences Po, in 2016. She completed her master’s degree at Istanbul University, Department of Urban Studies. She has participated in various conferences and symposiums with her research on urban and architectural studies. Since 2019, she has been working on Alan’Architects.
